in racing.
Born on December 5, 1991 in Les Sables-d'Olonne, Alexandre Cougnaud has been a French professional racing driver since 2009. Raised in a family of Vendée industrialists, a graduate of École Supérieure de Commerce de La Rochelle and holder of a Master 2 from ESPI Paris, he now lives in Paris where he runs his own company in the prestige real estate sector.
He started karting at age 10, in 2002. Eight seasons in karts, marked by a 6th place in the French Formula Kart Championship in 2008, before moving to single-seaters in 2009. Formul'Academy Euro Series, Formula Renault 2.0, Formula Ford, then Formula 3 — 3rd in the European F3 Open Championship in 2012, victory in the European F3 Open in 2013 — Porsche Carrera Cup France, and prototype endurance racing from 2016.
His endurance record includes 5 wins and over 35 podiums in international series, including a 3rd place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022 in LMP2 (Pro-Am class), the European Le Mans Series LMP3 Vice-Champion title in 2017, and a victory at Road to Le Mans 2016. FIA Silver-graded driver, he is preparing his 2026 season under Sodi Kart Officiel colors with Team CPB Sport for the KZ2 World Cup.
